405, explicitly, and this is worth a route rather than a 404.

This server is stateless: it issues no Mcp-Session-Id, so there is no event stream to resume. A client that gets a 404 here cannot tell that from “the endpoint does not exist” and will report the server as absent; 405 with Allow: POST says exactly which transport this is.

No credential

This operation is public: it authenticates by its own mechanism — a webhook signature or a channel token — rather than by a platform credential.
